# September - October Features & Updates
## New Features & Enhancements
### 1. Project Financial Overview & Profitability
**Project Financial Overview:** Introduced a consolidated financial overview for individual projects and across multiple projects, allowing users to compare Estimates, Budgets, Plans, Invoices, and Actuals in one place. Users can customise groupings, select the columns they want to view, and export financial data.
**Profitability Settings:** Added company-level settings to define which timesheet hours contribute to Actuals and profitability calculations. Companies can choose to include all hours, submitted or approved hours, or approved hours only.
**Actuals Refresh:** Enhanced the Actuals Refresh functionality to update actual hours for individual projects or across all projects, with status notifications and automatic refresh intervals to keep financial information up to date.
### 2. Enhanced Estimates & Budgets
**Estimates and Resource Rates:** Enhanced resource rate handling to follow the user's assigned role within the project team when determining bill rates, cost rates, and linked resource types.
**Connecting Estimates and Budgets:** Improved the relationship between estimates and budgets, supporting the use of estimated costs and resource rates in project budget planning and financial tracking.
**Budget Markup & Margins:** Enhanced the calculation logic for percentage-based and fixed-value markup and margin modes, providing greater flexibility and accuracy when managing project costs and profitability.
**Actuals Tracking in Budgets:** Added new budget columns for Actual Hours, Non-Billable Hours, and Actual Expenses, giving users better visibility into actual project performance against budgeted figures.
**Multi-Currency Support:** Improved currency conversion for estimates and budgets created in currencies other than AED.
### 3. Timesheet Activity Controls & Restrictions
Introduced a flexible timesheet restriction system that allows companies to control where and how users can record their time.
**Global Activity Controls:** System administrators can configure master-level activity permissions that apply across the platform.
**Project & Opportunity Controls:** Administrators can customise activity permissions for individual projects and opportunities, allowing restrictions to vary according to specific requirements.
**Project Stage Restrictions:** For projects without an active budget, timesheet entries can be restricted at the project stage level.
**Budget Item Restrictions:** For projects with an active budget, restrictions can be applied to individual budget items, controlling which items users can record time against.
**Transaction History:** Introduced a transaction history to track changes and user actions related to activity controls, providing greater visibility and accountability.
### 4. Project Management & Export Enhancements
**Dynamic Export Options:** Introduced dynamic export confirmation forms that adapt to the selected export configuration, providing a more flexible export experience.
**Project Financial Data Exports:** Enabled users to export customised financial overview data for individual projects and across projects.

- How global activity controls work and their scope across the platform.
- How to configure customised restrictions for individual projects and opportunities.

- How individual budget item restrictions apply to projects with an active budget.
- How the restriction system determines which level of control applies based on the project's budget configuration.
