# Data Import Process: Post data submission
Process Overview (At a Glance)
Review → Validate → Map → Review with Client → Confirm → Submit to Data
Team → Import
Typical timeline: 5–7 business days
An accurate timeline will be confirmed by the data team at the time of import.
1\. Review Your File
● We will check that your submitted file follows the correct format and template.
● File structure, headers, and layout are verified to ensure a smooth import.
2\. Check Required Columns
● All required columns are reviewed to make sure nothing is missing.
● Any missing or mislabeled fields will be flagged for correction.
3\. Map Your Data to the System
● We ensure that the data matches exactly with how your system is set up. This
includes:
○ Project stages
○ Industry types
○ Activity types
○ User names and other fields
● For example, if your file lists users with First Name + Last Name, the same
names must exist in the system.
● This step is done carefully to prevent errors during import.
4\. Review with You
● If there are any gaps, mismatches, or missing data, we will work with your team
to fix them.
● We iterate until all the data matches the system exactly.
5\. Final Confirmation & Submission
● Once everything is aligned and validated, we confirm that all checks are
complete.
6\. Submission to Data Team
● The finalized file is sent to our data team for import.
7\. Import Timeline & Next Steps
● The import usually takes 5–7 business days.
● Once submitted, the data team will provide an exact timeline for completion.
● We will keep you updated throughout the process.
