# How to add an Existing Finish to an Item
If a finish has already been created, you can link it to an item without creating a new finish. Follow the steps below:
### Steps
1. Open the required **Project**.
2. Navigate to the appropriate **Package**.
3. Open the item you want to link the finish to.
4. On the item page, select the **Details** tab.
5. Under the **Details** tab, click **Add Finishes**.
6. In the search field, enter the name of the finish you want to link.
- The search will display existing finishes that have already been created.
7. Select the checkbox next to the required finish.
8. Click the red **Add** button to link the selected finish to the item.
### Result
The selected finish will now be linked to the item and will appear in the item's **Details** tab.
> **Note:** Only existing finishes can be linked using this method. If the finish does not appear in the search results, you will need to create a new finish first.
