# Why should I not add area and location in finishes?

When adding finishes or parts to a main item, there's no need to specify the area and location separately.

The finishes or parts naturally take on the area and location of the main item they are attached to.

For example, if you add a finish to a sofa in the lounge area, the finish automatically adopts the sofa's area and location (i.e., lounge) without requiring manual input.
